Google Earth

When you're first introduced to Google Earth, as my mom recently was, it can become an obsession to find your home, the home you grew up in, your best friend's place and the Beijing Olympic Stadium among other hot spots.

The Using Google Earth blog has a myriad of ways to trick out your Google Earth experience for die-hards. Find planets, track your flight paths, view historical maps, geotag your iPhone photos.

With plain old Google Maps, you can do some fancy things too, like making a collaborative map for your cycling, hiking, driving or jogging buddies to share.

Congrats Ethical Bean!

Hovering!

Well, we finally snapped a picture of the elusive marketing genius Erin!

She is responsible for the 2009 catalogue, and here she is celebrating the completion of another job well done.

There was a new popular culture saying added to our office vocabulary during the project. Hovering - as in "Calvin, STOP hovering and I won't stick this pen in your neck!"

Seems I had a habit of looking over Erin's shoulder while she worked on the catalogue and since she works best listening to her iPod, I just stood there watching.... ehhhem HOVERING they say.

Hey, we were under deadline and I just thought I could "proof" over her shoulder.

I just hope the staff don't call me the HOVERER. In my defense, there is a management style I was taught by a successful entrepreneur - MBWA. Manage By Walking Around - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

A: On average, for every 7,600 bags of Kettle Brand® potato chips we produce, we create one gallon of waste vegetable oil. This waste vegetable oil is stored in a tank and, when enough accumulates, it is picked up and taken to a biodiesel production facility. That facility can make one gallon of 100% biodiesel for every gallon of waste oil we give them. 100% biodiesel can be used in any diesel engine, like in our fleet of bio-beetles!
